Fountain Winterization Service
We also offer fountain winterization services, as recommended by manufacturers to prevent ice damage. This also gives us an opportunity to evaluate each individual unit for potential issues, and make the necessary repairs to prevent future problems. These services include the following:
Removal and storage of your fountain.
On site diagnostics of fountain power cable and external capacitors.
Inspection of fountain anchor lines / moorings.
Fountain motors are power-washed and inspected for physical damage.
Resistance and MEG tests are performed to ensure fountain motors pass all electrical tests and are within factory specifications.
Impeller manually spun to diagnose potential bearing damage.
If more serious problems are detected, we work with our suppliers and local experts to ensure the highest quality repairs are performed. These more serious issues can include:
Water inside motor coil housing causing instant or nuisance breaker trips. Usually the result of a failed seal.
Broken connection in internal wiring causing an incomplete circuit ( motor will not run ).
Failed capacitor or start up switch, causing high amp draw and potential heat damage.
Damage to impeller shaft which can affect water flow and prevent replacement of impeller seals.
Failed bearings which cause loud noises and can lead to internal rotor / coil strike, reducing the lifespan of the motor.
Damaged elbows, connection threads and pins, which can cause arcing, incomplete circuits and nuisance tripping.
When diagnosing and repairing more serious problems, we check with manufacturers to determine the warranty period for each unit. If repairs are NOT covered under warranty, customer will be contacted for approval to diagnose cause of issues (rate of $75 an hour). Additional repair quotes will be provided and must be approved and paid before services are rendered.
