Nothing can ruin a day on the water like a harmful algal bloom. Not only can algae blooms interfere with fishing, boating and swimming, they can also introduce toxins into the water that can be harmful to not only ourselves but our four-legged friends as well. At Allegheny Pond & Lake Management, we prefer to use a proactive approach rather than a reactive approach to addressing unwanted algal growth.

While one pond may look just like the next, each body of water is unique. We do our best to learn which species of algae have a tendency to grow, when they like to grow, and which conditions facilitate that growth in your specific body of water. The quicker we can identify a pond or lake’s growth tendencies, the better we can plan to get ahead of algal blooms before they become problematic.
